A Night Under the Stars

On Friday, April 15th, the Granite Mountain Ninety-Nines hosted their first annual gala at the flight line with the theme “A Night Under the Stars.” President Mattie Mitchell spearheaded the idea because she wanted to introduce a spring event to match that of OctoberWest’s excitement in the fall. The dance was a great way to have some fun before the stress of finals with a DJ, food trucks, a beer garden, and dancing. Ten model airplane kits were auctioned off in addition to a 50/50 raffle. The goal of the dance was to help the 99’s start a scholarship fund for active members and bring awareness to women pilots in general. The club wants to thank everyone who came out to support and they hope to make this gala an annual event.
