Located on the North side of the town square, on the third floor above The Burmister, The County Seat is a hidden gem of a café. It is hidden away, as the staircase upstairs is in the back of another store, but this café has an awesome atmosphere and menu for anyone who discovers it. The café has a vast selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm every day and until 9:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
One item on their menu is the overnight oats, which has gluten free oats, almond milk, cinnamon apples, blueberries, and strawberries. The oats are served cold, and pair perfectly with a hot drink like the café’s elderberry tea. The portion sizes are large enough to feed most appetites with leftovers to take home. The TCS Club is another delicious addition to the menu with turkey, ham bacon, lettuce, white cheddar, and a specialty roasted garlic mayonnaise.
The windows of this hideaway face the main streets, so anyone who enjoys people watching will find this place a nice distraction from day to day life. With the open layout of tables around the main counter, customers can watch as their drinks and food are prepared by a wonderful staff. The staff is welcoming and genuinely seem to love their work and coworkers. This makes the café a comfortable spot to do homework with a quiet atmosphere.
The County Seat, while hidden away, deserves more attention for their wonderful dishes and amiable staff. There are so many more dishes and drinks that are worth trying out, and there is something to suit anyone’s palette. So, if you are reading this and need a new spot to hang out in the town square, check out The County Seat above The Burmister.
