Greek Life Introduction

By Kelsy Tempas, Fraternity and Sorority Life Coordinator and Assistant Director of Student Engagement

Looking to get involved on campus? Check out the nine different chapters that make up Embry-Riddle’s fraternity and sorority community. Fraternity and sorority involvement can be one of the most exciting and fulfilling experiences during your college career.

You’ll meet others through social events, volunteer in the community, feel supported academically and grow interpersonally.  But so much more than that, it offers you a sense of belonging on campus. The core values of scholarship, friendship, leadership, service, and accountability are the foundation for each of our chapter’s activities.

If you are interested in joining a fraternity you can choose to go through the informal recruitment process which starts on September 6. This process allows potential new members (PNMs) to meet all six fraternities at their own pace. Each chapter hosts a variety of events that you can attend to get to know the brothers. Be sure to look for schedules of each chapter’s events on the bulletin boards around campus!

If you are interested in joining a sorority you can participate in the formal recruitment process from September 7-11. During this time, potential new members (PNMs) will have a chance to interact with all three sororities and mutually decide if a chapter is a great fit for them. If you do not want to go through formal recruitment you can participate in continuous open bidding (COB) after the formal recruitment process is over. However there is no guarantee that each chapter will be able to participate in COB, so we encourage you to check out formal recruitment!
