What to order: Iced Pineapple Matcha Drink
Starbucks spring drinks will send your taste buds on an island vacation. This drink is another great addition to Starbucks’ line of spring drinks. Matcha green tea has been very popular in the United States for many years, and continues to become ever more popular. Since Starbucks acquired Teavana in December of 2012, Starbucks’ tea has been out of this world with flavor.. The Iced Pineapple Match Drink is sure to leave your taste buds exploding.
Every season, Starbuck releases a spectacular line up of teas, coffees, and bakery items. This spring’s Pineapple Matcha Drink knocks expectations out of the park. Your barista fills the blender with 2-6 scoops of matcha green tea. Then they add fresh pineapple juice and ginger slices. To top it off they mix coconut milk in to give it that extra bit of sweetness. Finally, the drink is blended all together to create the beautiful green swirl that is the Pineapple Matcha Drink.
The drink is normally served with ice. However, when trying it without ice I found out that the flavor was a lot sweeter and tangier, albeit less cool. The ginger in the Iced Pineapple Matcha definitely adds some spice and may cause heartburn for those sensitive to spicy foods. If your barista adds to much ginger, you can ask them to remake your drink. It is also important to note that Starbucks uses fresh pineapple juice in the drink, and may be out of it when you order..
Overall the Iced Pineapple Matcha was a spectacular drink, and I hope that Starbucks will not discontinue it at the end of the Spring season. This drink is like spring in a cup, and is a great alternative to your everyday coffee or tea. The Iced Matcha Drinks will not leave you dissatisfied. This is an everyday and anytime type of drink.
