The Eagles finished their first conference game with a win against Benedictine University, starting their conference record at 1-0 and all around record to 10-3. The first quarter started out roughly as the Eagles found themselves down by 2 already until senior Melissa Pfeifer (Hays, KA) tied the game with the first Eagle points. Senior Haley Villegas (Anthem, AZ) felt the heat as she made back to back triples, upping the game to 8-5. Freshman McKenna Klecker (Chandler, AZ) opened the second quarter with a basket as senior Allese Williams (Canyon Country, CA), and senior Danae Ruiz (Albuquerque, NM) followed to tie the game at half at 31 points. The women were down by 2 after the third quarter and won a hard fought game coming back and out-scoring the Redhawks in the fourth quarter by 17 points to end the game 12 points up at 73-61.
The second conference game for the Eagles added to their conference record of 2-0 after a win against the University of California Merced who took their first loss in conference play. The pattern for the Eagles is showing to start out slow and let the opponent get the first basket as senior Haley Villegas (Anthem, AZ) and senior Jenna Knudson (Sterling, CO) brought the heat, scoring back to back to up the score. Knudson had had enough of being down and clutched a corner triple to bring the Eagles the lead. Despite the Eagles offense, the Bobcats owned the first quarter 24-15. The Eagles found their stride in the next three quarters as they outscored the Bobcats. Senior Jazlyn Maletino-Faga (Tracy, CA) led the Eagles with 13 points while senior Melissa Pfeifer (Hays, KA) had eight rebounds.
The Eagles up their winning conference streak to 3-0 after a win against Simpson University. Senior Allese Williams (Canyon Country, CA) wanted an early lead starting with a triple only to have it followed up with a seven point run by the Redhawks. Senior Jenna Knudson (Sterling, CO) brought the Eagles within one point to start them on a scoring streak to end the quarter 17-11. The second quarter was a near whiplash as Simpson’s leading scorer scored a triple to cut the Eagle lead in half. Senior Jazlyn Maletino-Faga (Tracy, CA) sunk two free throws followed up by senior teammate Danae Ruiz (Albuquerque, NM) dropping two more free throws. The Eagles go into the half up by six and continue to hold the lead until the clock runs out with an Eagle win. Maletino-Faga led the Eagles in scoring with 21 points and also in rebounds with ten.
The men’s basketball team opened up their first conference game of the year to steal a win starting the record at 1-0 against Benedictine University. The Eagles earned a hard fought first quarter as freshman Dennis Pomazanov (Pleasant Hill, CA) scored the first four points for the Eagles. Pomazanov led the Eagles with 15 points total in the first half. Trading offensive leads with the Redhawks, junior Kaden Herbert (Georgetown, TX) dropped two triples to help keep the Eagles in the game before senior Nick Johnson (Anthem, AZ) put up seven to take back the lead going into the half up by six. Senior Giblert Ibarra (Prescott Valley, AZ) fired on all six cylinders coming out with two triples. The Eagles took advantage of the momentum and pushed their lead another 10 points to beat the Redhawks by 16. Johnson and Ibarra each scored 21 points for the game to provide proof of why they both have been honored for 1000 career points.
The Eagles pressed hard at home for their second conference win against the University of California Merced to bring their record to 2-0. After Bobcats drew first blood, senior Gilbert Ibarra (Prescott Valley, AZ) dropped back to back triples to bring the Eagle lead to 6-4. Senior Trace Edmier (Mesa, AZ) fought off two defenders and scored a triple before freshman Jack Berg (Sisters, OR) followed with his own triple to bring the Eagles to 12-11. The Eagles were down by the half by two. Senior Nick Johnson (Anthem, AZ) and Ibarra opened up with back to back buckets to lead by two. Freshman Trevor Weir (Temecula, CA) hit a goal to go up by one when Johnson showed up to score another two and put the Eagles up by three. Junior Kaden Herbert (Georgetown, TX) and freshman Dennis Pomazanov (Pleasant Hill, CA) help to retake the lead in under two minutes to play. The Bobcats missed the buzzer to tie the game losing by 2 to give the Eagles their hard fought victory.
The first loss to break the Eagles winning streak was taken by Simpson University as the men hold a conference record of 2-1. A fast paced game showed the Eagles unable to keep up with the Redhawks offense and defense. Senior Trace Edmier (Mesa, AZ) put the first three Eagle points on the board already down by two. Freshman Dennis Pomazanov (Pleasant Hill, CA) turned a steal into a dunk getting a rise the crowd. Despite the Eagles offense, they took a massive loss in the first half down by 18. The second half showed no better as the Eagles were down by another eleven to lose to the Redhawks by 29. Senior Nick Johnson (Anthem, AZ) scored 14 points to lead the offense while senior Gilbert Ibarra (Prescott Valley, AZ) led with eight rebounds.

The Eagles wrestling team showed a strong finish after a slow start of being down by six against Simon Fraser. The Eagles owned the statistical categories and the takedown department. Stringing together wins in crunch time was key to the Eagles victory. The matches are as follows:
