Restaurant Review – Roadrunners Restaurant

Rating: 5 out of 5

If you leave Prescott and head south on the I-17 and the Black Canyon Freeway, gazing to your left, you may come across New River, Arizona. In the unincorporated community, you will find Roadrunners Restaurant. If you are on the highway and need to find somewhere to have lunch or dinner, then this is the place. My grandparents and I first stopped there when we were heading for home in Scottsdale. We had never heard of it before, but we decided to give it a try. Getting out of the car, we saw the sign the two words “Road” and “Runner” separated by a running roadrunner. The building itself gave the look of an Old Western bar. For the state of Arizona, this makes sense. We got in, and it was quiet, big, and our waitress was nice. My grandparents shared a Reuben, and I ordered a Classic Burger. I loved my burger. It was very filling and had a very authentic beef taste to it. Likewise, my grandparents enjoyed their Reuben. My grandfather even commented that he could go for another. We then paid for our meal and then went on our way.

However, we only tasted a sample of what Roadrunners Restaurant is. On Sunday nights, listen to karaoke sung by locals and local bands while eating a burger or sandwich. The genre is usually country or old rock and roll. On Wednesdays, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., guests play poker and enjoy drinks. The most entertaining event, however, is bull-riding on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.. Not only that, there is steer-riding and sheep-riding for kids. For $20 a ride and $20 for equipment, see how long you survive! The restaurant also hosts weddings and birthday parties. Additionally, they sell other merchandise in the form of clothing, bumper stickers, and even coffee. So, when you buy, you’ll let people know you have been to this fine establishment. Hopefully, I’ll return to Roadrunners Restaurant one day and get to experience the full value of it! For more information visit: [http://www.roadrunnerrestaurantandsaloon.com/index.html].
